Bringer of Light

This is my preliminary sketch for Pure's contest. I chose to stick her Sailorphaeton into my world of of otaku senshi, re-writing certain aspects of the story. I'm not making these things "official"; they're merely for this contest.

There's a legend that the angel (or sometimes god) Lucifer ruled a planet between Mars and Jupiter. It went by many names, one being "Phaeton." When he disobeyed God, the planet was destroyed and became the inner asteroid belt.

Since my Shangri-La deals with angels and - um, "Abrahamic" concepts, I decided to use that legend for this contest.

Lux-ferre: Light-bearer (I hope I got that right)

Before the Silver Millennium, there were ten planets. Phaeton's people were the only civilized people who inhabited the solar system (the other planets were more primitive). The Ginzuishou (in this story, it's "godly" and sentient) loved this planet.

Some of the people (or Luciferians) wanted to expand the empire, so they made plans to invade the other planets. This made the Ginzuishou angry, so it destroyed the world. The planet's senshi died along with it, being a victim of circumstance rather than actively wanting to take over the other planets. Her Sailor Crystal shattered, but the shards were eventually collected by Lady Paris (who is really the sentient Ginzuishou). These shards were placed into the Angelic Senshi, and gave them the boost to use their powers.

Similar to how the Abrahamic god still loves Lucifer, the Ginzuishou still loved Phaeton's people and wanted to keep their memory alive.

Sailorphaeton's fuku influenced the design of the outfits for the Angelics. Lady Paris tells them that Sailorphaeton is the Saint Lucifer (since she didn't want to disobey "god") and an image of hers is inside the Angelics' home base (like  a religious icon).
Her cross is the same that Sailor Archangel uses. (Here, it's wrapped with roses)






Lots of feathers, rocks, and shards are on this outfit. You can't see it well through the scribble, but it's all there. 8D
She should have a halo; I'll have to add that.

Parts of different outfits for Sailorphaeton went into this:
-Her princess gown
-The crown on her MLP version
-The belt area and top are similar to SailorGoldFerret's.
-She wears a hooded cloak
-She has her senshi broach (which one, I haven't decided on)
-Senshi shoes and sword

This is a quick idea sketch. Pure, if I'm too late for the contest, move on without me. XD I wanted to get this idea out of my head.






Now, I need to work more on designs for my and Derrot's DW comic. D:    <3

10 Years?!

I just realized that my very first otaku senshi, Sailor Archangel (originally Sailor Angel), turns 10 this year.

Those Death Goddesses... (Feedback)

I'm popping in to ask an important (well, to me) question.

You know that series I worked on at the beginning of this year? This one!

-Do you believe such a concept would be sell-able online or otherwise?  (i.e. think there would be interest?)

-How large would they have to be? (And I know I need to get better-quality scans of them before selling)

-Should I re-do them before selling? Certain ones? Or just wait until I get better artistically? (I don't mind if the answer is "yes!")

-Do any catch your personal interest?

-Should I sell them separately or in a book? Option for both?

-Should I add more to the series (any name suggestions)? The theme IS Death. However, many are also women who have been oppressed or hurt in someway by society or by men.

-Would it be okay if I added their personal stories (on the backs if sold separately or on the facing page in a book)? The "stories" wouldn't be formal. They'd be in my own "sarcastic" style. If you look at Hel's page, you'll see a tentative example.

-Any other comments you want to add?
