  1. Yay, for a the special!

I don't know why everyone is getting worked up about the movie. If it's fun, great. If it sucks, they don't have to pay attention to it/pretend it doesn't exist (Dragon Ball: Evolution, hm?) The worst that can happen is that it might drive away potential fans if it's bad. But then that's their loss for being uninformed. Potential fans would just have to find out about the awesomeness of the TV program like anyone else pre-movie.

And on the other hand, this could bring in more Doctor Who fans. Sometimes nerds act like the mainstream populace will piss in their sandbox if they find out about their fandom, but I think it's a good thing if more people like it, mainstream audience or not. Because then there is more revenue for more Doctor Who stuff. >_>

It actually aired on Christmas?! I was wondering how they would work that, like what day it would be on. I'll have to set the Recorder thingie. ^^

  2. Since I haven't had time to breathe and read all sorts of news, my mom's been updating me on all sorts of things about the movie. (She's that mother who, if with geek child, will instantly inform you on anything related to your fandom and comments related to such. Like gossip, only faster. That's the Puerto Rican way 8D) She even thought it was interesting that people want either a female Dr (there has been one to her surprise/possible interest?) or Christopher Eccleston or (more) David Tennant back. Which makes no sense, because Dr. Who movies are historically and possibly canonically separate from the TV series in terms of storylines. So as much as I would like see Smithy on the big screen, I'm a tad stickler for traditions XD
