Still need to work on perspective (Homura's arm is pretty tiny. 8D) And I've already failed on those panels. The laser screwdriver is in her right hand, then suddenly in her left. Oopsies. That device is detailed like whoa, by the way.
She's pretty "developed" in body but other than that, I do like her. :3
As for Mister Master and his handling of Homu's Soul Gem: (Shame on him for touching it!)
I could NOT get his face right, so it's blank. But I did look up Simm pics to study his facial structure and drew a quick sketch. Hopefully it won't be too difficult next time to draw him now that I kind of know his features. (His cheeks are puffier than I had remembered and his mouth is tiny when not smiling. Hmm, interesting. Yep.)
Oh, and KYUBEY EARS!
Strangely, "Drumming" by Florence + the Machine came on while drawing him. Hardy har har. How appropriate.
Side note: Mami has intruded into the story now. She has already died in the PMMM universe but is somehow traveling with the 10th Doctor. LOLWUT? She even has a scar around her neck to remind her of her decapitation, because I'm a bitch like that. And of course she butts heads with (10)nant because she uses primarily guns, BIG guns, and he despises them. Fun fun.
Pics of her and the 10th team (and 11th for that matter) will come at some point. :3 I already know how she and Homura will meet too.

I'm feeling a bit guilty because I get the feeling there will be some shoujo-ai-ish hints between Mami and Homura, yet I'm a shipper of Hom/Madoka. >.> It's just happening naturally, underneath all the slapstick. :3 Of course, there's plenty of grumpy!Homura since her precious Madoka isn't around.
I kind of want her to get annoyed with Rory and use the laser screwdriver to set his butt on fire. But that seems so, I dunno, undignified of her. XD

Shading, weeeeee! 8D And I think that shot of Homura from behind is awesome... did you use a reference? You've set a new bar for yourself with that, I think. ^^
ReplyDeleteI agree that the head and arm are too big in the first panel, though. It's more like there were two different drawings grafted together, because the arm and head go fine together and the torso is fine by itself. It's just together the proportion is off.
And don't be afraid to cartoon The Master's face up a bit. Your realism in his face study looks good, but when you try to draw him looking in different directions, it might be more difficult without more references. Exaggerated faces are more fun anyway. XD
That shading is pretty much "smearing" now. 8D *bummer* Damn pencils.

I think/hope I can recreate Mister Master a bit better, especially after seeing the actor in other things beside DW. I'm more familiar with his face now. I can just use the shows as refs. >.> Exaggeration is more fun, but I can't do it too much with him or he may come out unrecognizable.

Have you tried using a piece of paper between your hand and the artwork? That usually helps, though you have to make sure your proportions are correct before adding details. Because when you cover up part of the image, you miss the overall picture. ^^

Yeah, he has a rather plain face. Shallow as it is, I think I'd like him more with a more caricature-worthy face. Like Tennant has. XD

He's a bit more expressive the second time around, so he comes out cartoonish anyway. XD Plus, he's blond and I swear he must be wearing contacts. He just looks...different. And the women's clothing just adds to the weirdness, not to mention the whole homoerotic feeling between him and the Doc throughout those eps. Weirdness! >.> (I am ashamed to say that the pink dress was something of a turn-on. That shouldn't happen with me! D: But it just goes so well with his new hair!)
