First work in Figgy Painting
2nd one, which didn't have much done to it since I had to skip class when mom landed in the hospital. Small head. >.>
Air/Crane WIP. Eh. Not too purdy, but I'm trying.
I didn't photograph the other two (Monkey and Tiger) since the lines won't show up well. Maybe later. 8D
The feathers on the crane are looking great so far! Can't wait to see it finished~ along with the Monkey and the Tiger. ^^

You're off to a good start in figure painting! You really are good at mixing color! I feel for you having to deal with paint for a semester, though. D: At least figures are more fun to paint than vases and random junk from the closet. >_>
Really? Thanks. :3 The feathers just look too dirty and weird to me, but I'm not being objective, I suppose. 8D I'm probably only going to have four finished pieces and two WIPs to show tomorrow. (But at least she'll know I'm working on them? Maybe I can distract her with questions about how she liked Sherlock's first finale on Sunday. 8D)
ReplyDeleteOn the show, they don't walk around in black robes holding scythes, but you probably figured that out. XD They're like normal people, a family who bitch at each other a lot. It's funny, and the death scenes do get ridiculous, but it still has heart (I cried on the first ep). Check out Pushing Daisies too. Oh, and Wonderfalls (which you may like more because of the talking stuffed animals and figurines). Bryan Fuller is awesome.
Well, at least you have lots of stuff to look forward to, and don't have to look far to entertain yourself. :P
*snerk* "Random junk" is one way of putting it. I couldn't tell what some of that stuff was sometimes. <3

I got jittery, too! But not because of the speed, but because it's always creepy when people look over my shoulder. I'd rather go draw in a closet for ten minutes, then come out and show everyone. XD
Long entries? Huh? The New Year's Resolution ones? If those are long, just wait till my reviews of music and stuff. XD You don't have to reply to all of them, just whatever you feel you want to add. I can read yours fast because yours aren't essays. XDD (Bah, my constant saying, "the comic will be soooon" is the real deja vu. XDD)
Make a list of the six Goddesses you would like to do for the series. Assign numbers. Then go to a random number generator on the Internet and draw whichever one's number is drawn. XD (And that's a great idea, having something concrete. Because then it's easy for her to say, "Yeah, go ahead." ^^)
I just meant "dirty" as in not knowing what's what on this thing, but that may be a plus when it comes to the professor. Well, I'm done with it. I rushed, but oh well. ^^; And it was last Tuesday, but I once again got sidetracked with the hospital issue. UUUUUUGH, I'm screwed. Maybe I should do 10 goddesses for the next series to make up for my crappy timing on this one.

There are only a few eps of Wonderfalls, so you may want to try it first (the others had two seasons). People prefer easy, cheap reality shows to stuff that makes you think so they don't last long. ._.; At least Pushing Daisies will come back as a comic. >.>

I hate reality shows. They make me angry when I view them, because they show how terrible real life people can be. I love fictional villains, but reality show people? They could live in my neighborhood. That's scary. XD Yay, comic!
The Resolutions are sucking right now. I need to work twice as hard this coming month.

I have a list, but turns out I won't be working on the goddesses yet (at least not all). I took in the four Chinese creatures today, and she really liked the Dragon, "Foo dog," and Qilin. Wasn't too keen on the Crane because it didn't fit with the rest, which is true. I didn't even follow my thumbnail, which stuck with the floral/element theme. 8D So I'm redoing that (oh, and the fixative screwed up my feathers on the one I completed. I was NOT happy about that.) So I'm doing Crane again, and working on/changing Tiger and Monkey (better compositions in mind now). She said to do three more to go with the nicer three, so that shouldn't be too hard to pull off within a week. Whew!
ReplyDeleteHope you do get to see the end of ep 1, if just for the character interactions. They're lovely. Legal. Pah! I use that sort of thing as preview anyway, then decide if it's good enough to buy at some point. (Which Sherlock is. And so is Being Human, but I don't have enough for those sets at Chamblin. D: I hope they stay there for awhile.)

*snerk* True about "sibling", but I said "jealous" since I have a different perspective after seeing all the other eps where they bitch at each other like an old married couple and Sherlock does complain when John goes to visit someone (not shown on screen, but his complaining fits are mentioned).
"Reality" or scripted? >.> They could just be acting like jerk-offs, but nah, lots of people really are horrible. I'm sorry you live near jerk-offs. :P

What I had in mind was combining death and sex symbolism in the goddess images. Persephone, for example, is associated with the pomegranate, which itself is associated with the vagina. So she'll be seated, legs splayed and holding the pom near her nether regions. (Get it? Nether regions, underworld. Hardy har har, I'm sad) It won't be a frontal view; not going for porn star style. And since Perspehone was forced/trapped in the Underworld, she'll have bonds on her which attach to the border. (Hair's twisted in it too) Her head will be twisted at an odd angle because of this (hook in mouth or something).
Just an idea. I have the thumbnail done. So they'll look as if they should be sexy, but there's something "off" about them. Think of the nurses from Silent Hill. 8D

DeleteI'm sure I'll get to watch the end of episode one. Unless it never re-runs AND the set gets lost from the library, Sherlock 1 should be in my future at some point. XD And I can understand the preview part, but some circumstances make illegal downloading unnecessary. It's not as though these shows are out-of-print and the distributors are making it hard to purchase them (what would be nice is if they had some full episodes streaming with commercials, but whatever. Hey, if I end up not being able to watch or listen to something because it's hard to get or view, and thus I don't buy the discs, cartridges, or files of media that I might like just because I don't KNOW if it's something I'll like and I'm not going to blind buy, it's not my fault. And it really doesn't hurt me with all the other shows on Hulu or Crunchyroll competing for my limited time FOR FREE. I actually bought Gintama on DVD, after seeing it for free on Crunchyroll and liking it, le gasp! Oh, and Sonic CD. I want to buy you, but I don't have the systems you're on and my PC is an old hag, so I guess I'll wait another decade to see if you're released on something I will actually play you on.)

Reality shows probably are scripted to a certain degree, but still, it's vague. Idols are the closest thing to reality shows I enjoy, even though they don't really fit my definition of reality shows. The reality shows I loathe are the ones that are a "peek into a real person's personal life." Those are sad and frustrating. But! I don't mind a "peek into a real person's career", which is educational, or a "peek into a fictional persona's life, edited for a specific image", which is like an escapist slice-of-life story. Idol shows fit the latter categories, either separately or together. ^^
By Thursday?! I have to do a month's worth of resolutions in one day? XDDDD (Only The Doctor could do it.)
