Dying For Dethklok

I'm a horrible fan. 8D I remembered that S4 of Metalocalypse starts soon just this Friday. Ah well, I blame the sickness and stress. (And worrying about jobs-I'm seriously looking at a funeral home and Petsmart, since the Humane Society only accepts volunteers. I'll volunteer there once I get a job secured. I love me some animals.)
ANYWAY.
I just saw a clip of s4 and I realized how much I've missed the boys. The best part was the homosexual fanart, which can be seen at the 7 second mark, and dear lord, I actually recognize some of that art! I think it's awesome that series' creators acknowledge the oddball parts of their fandoms and seem to be okay with it (DW and Sherly included), and they love teasing the fans. <3

I'm also excited to see where Jon Schnepp takes his Grimm Fairy Tale series. *grabs popcorn and waits*

Quicky 4/26/12

Got behind on my posts, look-at-blogs time, and arting. I've been dealing with horrible congestion in my chest (hacking violently, can't breathe sometimes, sore throat, etc.). I may need to go to the doctor in the morning and get a script for a decongestant. I guess the end-of-term time and the Foxy scare tore down my immune system's defenses, because holy crap. (Concerning Foxy: she seems to be doing better. She's much chipper, can walk somewhat normally, and is eating again. She even sang today. I know she won't be around too much longer due to age, but I didn't realize just how unready I was to let her go until she fell ill. Grimmy got an "earful" that day, honestly.)

I hate that this crap keeps happening because it looks as if I'm making excuses and being lazy. ._.;

I guess it's a good thing that I didn't plan on walking in the official graduation ceremony tomorrow anyway. >.> But I do feel guilty since some family members have called to ask when they should be in the arena. I seem to have the family whose members don't see each other often but will come to big events anyway. Meh, I honestly just didn't want them to be bored because believe me, it's gonna be boring. Lots of peeps are graduating. Sooooooooo bor-zzzzzzzz. Yet Mum insisted on sending out those announcements. I feel as if I'm letting people down when they're told that I'm not walking. ): It feels like a gift grab, which is god awful.

I'm rambling. Hopefully I'll get better and can post the newer "goddess" WIP soon, along with the other stuff that I said I would post.

*pops cough drop*

Oh, and we got our portfolio feedback from the faculty. We all had good and bad critiques. (I was quite flattered that one said he wanted a copy if I published a book of my goddesses)
The only critique that got under my skin was how one professor asked if I could add more of "myself" or "more" into the goddesses, rather than just have them be outright illustrations of their stories. I thought that I had explained the symbolism and other influences I put into those things during the presentation, since not all are just straight illustrations. Some are, but all aren't. (To me, anyway) It makes me feel as if that professor wasn't listening, which isn't hard to believe because after my part, I sat in the back and could observe everyone, and some profs weren't even paying full attention to the students who went after me. Just UGH, and I especially didn't like it because they did so to Danielle who is one of the most talented people in our group and is quite humble about it. (And she took excellent photos of other people's work since Prof. Louise was a stickler about having nice photos. Danielle didn't ask for any sort of payment for doing so, and AGH. It just pissed me off that she seemed to get the short end of the stick since she went last.)

Sorry, rambling again. >.> Ah well, the situation just made me want to draw more toothed vaginas (chewing on certain people's heads and body parts).

Done?

Yesterday was our Portfolio presentations. They went well, I think. Everyone was awesome, despite our nervous twittering. It was difficult condensing those goddess stories into 1-2 sentences, but people seemed to enjoy learning about them. One of my former profs (Gaddy as you know him, Der) kind of gave me an odd look when he saw my goddesses displayed on the wall. XD But he still asked about them! 8D
On Tuesday, we go back for the wrap-up, then...what? >.>

I haven't touched the computer for three days, so everything feels weird. XD I 'm also typing this half-awake, so I keep needing to erase everything and re-type since the first attempts look like: ooglybooglyblahblehek.

When I get back in order, I'm diving into y'all's blogs and dA stuff. (I'll also post that long "entertainment/distraction" entry-lots of things I've seen/heard this past month. And also something from Miss Luna to me. Sorry for taking so long, m'dear!)

I've started on two new goddess pics. I can't let go! XD But normal, oddball stuff will also resume.

Time For More Junk!

How was your Easter? Mumzy won the cake contest again (remember that rabbit cake from last year?).

(It's one of her customers, but I've never met the lady, so I'll just take her word for it. >.>)

Here's my antisocial self (INKING!) :

Here's that funny goose from the school paper:

(This is what we have to deal with everyday.)

WIP of the first Encounters piece (on large black pastel paper)

Two newer nude paintings:

(Some of my nerdy stuff is peeking out at you)

Completed Hel

Redone Ereshkigal

Newer goddesses:

Leinth (Etruscan)- guards the gate to the underworld. Is faceless.
Kishimo-jin (Buddhist Japanese; Izanami is Shinto)- was once a demonness who killed children, until the Buddha kidnapped one of hers. She then learned of the pain she caused mothers, and became a protector of children.

Marzanna (Polish/Czech)- Goddess of death, winter, and nightmares. She is still burned or drowned symbolically in doll form today to signal spring. She would sometimes lure men and they would disappear or go nuts.
Can you tell what's going on here? 8D (Lots of scribbling. And snowflakes!) The burning dress was inspired by a scene from The Hunger Games.
Those people on the bottom layer are supposed to be having nightmares, I suppose.

Ixtab (Yucatan Mayan)- goddess of suicides, sacrificial victims, women who died in childbirth, etc. Her only known image is of a hanged woman. Suicide was seen as an honorable way to die so the souls would live with Ixtab under the Yaxche tree (World Tree). The cross reminded them of the World Tree so I tried to make this look almost like a crucifixion. >.>

Eingana (Australian Aboriginal)- creator goddess who gave birth to all living things. (She doesn't have a vagina, and she's really a full snake, but I took some liberties). She holds onto the cord/sinew attached to everything and if she lets go, that living thing will die. If she dies, all die.
Each scale was shaded individually. 8D

Pele (Hawaiian)- Not really a death goddess, but she's a very temperamental volcano goddess. And that can kill stuff, so-yeah. She has a white dog who warns people of an eruption. Legend has it that Pele, as an old woman, and her dog actually can be encountered by visitors and tourists. (I wanna go!) She'll ask you for cigarettes. 8D Sometimes she is seen as young or even as the white dog.
I read some interesting "real life" stories from those who have seen her.
Another story claims that those who have taken rocks as souvenirs from her volcano have been cursed and the curse will only disappear when the rocks are mailed back to Hawaii as an apology.
I like drawing scared little people apparently. >.>

There are two more, but I haven't done much to them. So they'll be up next time. (?)
+~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+
My "entertainment" (music/vids) will be put in a separate post since there are so many. 8D (Hey, it's been awhile since I made an official entry! :P So the list builds up.) But that's for later. Must continue inking.
+~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+
The other completed goddesses (first 13, counting Hel and Ereshkigal) will go to my dA at some point.

Soooooon

I'll have *counts* three posts for this weekend (not all art-just catching up).

It's getting down to the wire. Just two more weeks until Portfolio Presentation. I'm gonna barf. But at least I'll be able to comment on people's blogs afterward (I've seen/glimpsed some things on my dashboard which have made me excited. 8D) and reply to comments with no worries. Oh, and I'll also be able to (try) work on those goddess and DW comics(and OCs) like I've been wanting to.

Hope you guys/gals are doing well! *goes back to inking*
