Monkey/Stone

Messy messy, but I'm trying to complete these quickly. I think Tiger/Earth will be more simplistic (here's to hoping).

Stone/Monkey was influenced by the story of Sun Wu-Kong (Wu-Kung/Wukong/etc.) from The Journey to the West. He was born from a stone egg on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit. Wikipedia actually has a good summary.

And have a puppy dog:

  1. I like the shading in the monkey's face! He really does look like he's coming from the stone egg! And that was a good idea for mixing the flowers and fruit on the egg shape itself, instead of around. It matches the others that way. ^^

When you were giving the description of the story, all I could think of was GODIEGO's theme "Monkey Magic" for the live-action version of Journey to the West in 1978.

"Born from an egg on a mountain top,
The punkiest monkey that ever popped."

    Nostalgia~ :'D

    Awww, puppy~ *pets*

  2. Glad it looks fine. XD It doesn't scream "stone" to me, but I think that's because it looks like moving tentacles/vines. >.> Ah well, the others "move" too, so I guess that's fine.
    Thanks. <3

I looked up Monkey Magic. It's going to be in my head for awhile. Thanks a lot. :P I'm actually trying to track down the "Monkey" series. It looks cheesy and hilarious, but stiil, YAYJttW!

    1. You're welcome! I read it as stone just because I know the story. Maybe a random person not familiar with various mythology would think otherwise. XD

And you're welcome again~ =P I take you heard about its BBC dub and that piqued your interest? XD

  3. I think there will be lots of explanation tomorrow for these. I have a feeling that most of my series will have lectures attached. People are going to haaaaaaate me when I come up. 8D

Yup, I found the dub (through bad means. I know, shame on me). I'm waiting for it, along with the Jeremy Brett version of Sherlock Holmes. (Like I need another universe(s) to get involved in.)

    1. They might just cut you off. I sometimes go into things thinking I'll be giving a long explanation, but then the conversation is moved along before I can finish everything I planned to say. :( I don't think art majors are typically the wordy or speech-loving type. You have better luck with English or History majors. XD

I don't know how you're able to keep up with so much stuff! XD

    2. Well now, that's just RUDE. D: You'd think they'd tolerate speeches considering how many totally BS the "meaning" behind some of the most bizarre stuff.

I don't "keep up." It really just accumulates. And sits. And rots.

Ugh, I need to sleep. >.> I don't want to go!

    3. I think it's me, though, because I stumble on my words sometimes and go on tangents, so people think they are taking me back on track, even though it really just makes me lose momentum and my place in the speech. D:

      Okay, that makes me feel better. Whenever I hear of people that are watching or playing or reading a lot of stuff while going to school/working/etc. I feel so slow. ;_;

Sleep and get through the day and then you can relax! :D

    4. Ugh, that happened to me today. I didn't go into the mythological significance at all. ): And I stumbled over my artist statement in Portfolio. *weeps* Let's be awkward together! (But I think I know how to make it better)

Pfft, I have an external hard drive full of shows, music, and audio books and haven't even gone through 10% of it, I'm sure. I'll be dead before then, but at least I'll have something to occupy time if need arises. <3 And that's why I watch/listen to stuff while working; it'll never get touched otherwise! (sounds dirty)

I want to sleep again. >.> *washes dishes instead* ):

    5. Wheee, awkwardness! (And how to make it better? Counseling? Medication? Carrying a chainsaw to class everyday and saying, "Let me finish. *glare* " ??

Hmm, 10%, sounds about right for the stuff on my list and on my shelves. XD I can listen to stuff, but not watch when I'm working, so maybe that's why it's easier to keep up with podcasts and music? I'm totally failing on the show/movie/game/book/comic/magazine front right now. XD

Aww, well at least chores can sometimes be relaxing. :)

    6. I meant I know how to make my statement better. It sounded weird as I read it out aloud (which is why she makes us stand up, I guess). But taking a chainsaw in might be effective sometimes. 8D

It's even harder when you keep listening/watchmaking/reading the same thing over and over since you love it so much. I can't move on to the next thing (at the moment, it's that War of the Worlds. I get stuck on it every few years, it seems). *pokes harddrive*

Sleeping is also relaxing. >.> *eats*

    7. I can't take too much of the same media at once; otherwise I end up getting irritated with it. So I have to watch/listen to stuff in between. ^^

Silly! Make sure you get some sleep! XD
